Under construction, interviews to be added
soon ...
Kurt Wimmer, Writer and Director of Equilibrium, has been kind enough
to help with this site by providing materials to better
teach Gunkata as it is presented in the film. Kurt has agreed to do a
short interview, I'll post it here in a week or so hopefully.
Read this long,
excellent interview with Kurt Wimmer on CHUD.
Jim Vickers, Fight Choreographer for the movie is also being supportive
of this site and with his input I hope to make this site even more authentic.
Jim Vickers is currently working as Stunt Coordinator of the TV show,
"She Spies", where he not only conceptualizes the action but
also directs it as the shows second unit director.

"I love
and have always loved and will always love action. Great action to
me is better than food, better than sex, better than anything. I remember
vividly every single moment of great action I have ever seen in the
theater, when I saw it, and the elation I felt when I saw it. Action
makes my heart pound just thinking about it. I'm in love with the
heroic ideal which is probably kind of corny in an age of advancing
cynicism but I can't help it. For a man on film, there is no greater
moment than the instant when he suddenly gives up everything he knows
or thought he ever wanted and starts whipping ass for love or principle."

"The concept of the Gunkata has it's roots
in formal martial arts. It is therefore very near and dear to me being
not only a 4th degree black belt but a karate instructor for now over
two decades." -
